🛒 Ingredients
-
400g pasta (spaghetti or penne)
-
500g ready-made meatballs (store-bought)
-
4 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped (or 1 can crushed tomatoes)
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
Salt to taste
-
½ teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
-
½ teaspoon dried oregano or basil
-
¼ cup water (if needed)
-
Fresh parsley leaves, chopped
Grated cheese (cheddar or parmesan)
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside. Reserve a little pasta water in case you need to loosen the sauce later.
2️⃣ Prepare the Tomato Sauce
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and slightly golden. Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add chopped tomatoes (or crushed tomatoes), salt, sugar, and dried herbs. Let the sauce simmer for 10–15 minutes until it thickens slightly.
3️⃣ Add the Meatballs
Add the ready-made meatballs directly into the sauce.
Cover and let them simmer in the tomato sauce for about 8–10 minutes (or according to package instructions) until heated through and well coated with sauce.
If the sauce becomes too thick, add a small splash of water or reserved pasta water.
4️⃣ Combine & Serve
Add the cooked pasta into the sauce and gently mix until everything is evenly coated.
Serve hot, topped with:
-
Freshly chopped parsley leaves
-
A generous sprinkle of grated cheese
🌿 Why Add Fresh Parsley?
Fresh parsley adds brightness and freshness to the dish. It balances the richness of the meatballs and tomato sauce while giving the pasta a beautiful finishing touch.

-
Always salt your pasta water — it makes a big difference.
-
Let the sauce simmer gently for deeper flavor.
-
Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and taste.

👩🍳 Easy Way to Remove Tomato Skin (Blanching Method)
-
Boil water in a pot.
-
Cut a small “X” at the bottom of each tomato.
-
Drop tomatoes into boiling water for 30–60 seconds.
-
Remove and place them immediately into cold water.
